Weekend Update

Saturday, May 4th the race was cancelled due to rain. All we did is take our cars out and put them right back in our trailers. Boring!

Sunday May 5th was a beautiful day. Route 66 hosted Top Sportsman and Midwest Super Comp. We also had the pleasure of watching Lisa Coil, wife of Austin Coil, crew chief for John Force and the Chitown Hustler, go for her license in the Drastic Plastic Fuel Altered.

On this beautiful Sunday we had 23 cars. Round 1 went without a hitch. Everyone was paired up and in line when called. #1 Qualifier was Pat Fitzpatrick with his ’06 Gebhardt dragster.

Round 2

Chris Lancaster against Joey Fuesting – Christ edged out Joey by running an 8.917

Warren Goetsch against Gary Jenkins – Warren came out on top with a 8.916 to Gary’s 8.997

Final Round

Cheryl Kolinek up against the Route 66 Champion, Jeff Spierling – Cheryl ran an 8.904 to Jeff’s 8.919. Great Drag Racing!

Congrats to Kolinek Racing!

On another note, Congrats to Brina Splingaire on being Super Gas Champion at the NHRA National Event in St. Louis. Congrats Jeff, Cindy & Brina and to her sponsor Jeff’s Auto & Truck Repair!

Many thanks to the sponsors of Midwest SuperComp and a special thanks to Route 66 Raceway for having MWSC for the past two weekends.

Our next race is at Byron May 31st and June 1st.

For more details keep an eye out on the web.

21st year of Midwest Super Comp
Starts at Route 66 raceway.

Saturday April 26th saw a good turnout of new and old racers. Route 66 Raceway had the 1320 prepped for some awesome 8.90 racing!

Saturday's #1 qualifier Larry led the way but it was Kimbra Fuesting at the end of the day with a victory over Warren Goetsch's Dart sponsored dragster!  Sunday rain brought threat of rain and I know my buddy Scott Phillips would have. Scotty had a major chassis failure which causes his dragster to lose control in the worst spot (the lights). Scott walked away from this which matters. #1 qualifier led the way Sunday as the race day ended on Sunday it was as good as you can imagine. Your reigning champ Dave Livesey was the winner on Sunday. Congrats to all and Scotty I know how you feel, hurry up and get back in there.

Race times are the same as last week but note pit parking has changed watch for super comp signs.

20 YEARS OF MIDWEST SUPER COMP & MOVING FORWARD

Seeing Dave Livesey make a dream come true of repeating what his parents, Dan and Jan Livesey, did 20 years ago was incredible. Now that the 20th Anniversary is in the past, it is hard to predict who will be coming out of their trailer and sending the others home thinking ‘what can I do different for the next race’. This year MWSC has many race teams with the hope of taking first.
